Montréal, March 21, 2022 – Bâtirente announces the appointment of Danick Lessard as Director, Development. Danick will head up strategic development activities for Bâtirente’s participating unions and their members. His appointment rounds out our management committee, composed of Éric Filion, CEO; Marie-Claude Baker Prud’homme, Director, Finances, Governance and Risks; and Vickie Lavoie, Chief Operating Officer.
For Danick Lessard, this is a return to the Bâtirente team. In fact, he previously held the role of Group Annuity Plans Advisor in our organization, from 2009 to 2015. “I’d like to contribute once again, in a meaningful way, to the success of Bâtirente and guide our members toward reaching their financial well-being objectives,” stated Danick Lessard.
Mr. Lessard brings more than 25 years’ experience in group pension plans, business development and customer service, along with a background that includes various management positions. He is a licensed group annuity plans advisor and has the title of Certified Employee Benefit Specialist.
As CEO, Éric Filion elaborated, “We are proud to welcome Danick Lessard back to our organization. He is a valuable asset for developing our business, and his return attests to the trust placed in Bâtirente. This gives us the confidence to continue working toward our ambitious goal: helping our 25,000 members achieve a successful retirement.”
Bâtirente is a group retirement system created in 1987 at the initiative of the CSN. It allows 25,000 workers, grouped in 300 labour unions, to benefit from pension plans tailored to their needs by pooling their savings.
A leader in responsible investing, Bâtirente believes that actively managing its investee companies’ environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks helps ensure sound capitalization of the pension plan as well as long-term economic and social development, which are both required for sustainable financial performance.
