Board of directors<\/h2>\n

B\u00e2tirente\u202fcomprises three categories of members. The board of directors includes eleven members elected at the annual general meeting. Five come from groups, four seats are reserved for the\u00a0CSN\u00a0and two independent members are appointed by the board. The by-laws aim at ensuring the presence on the board of an array of competencies and qualities\u00a0required\u00a0for the sound governance of the corporation, whose first mandate is to ensure the conduct of a retirement system.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The officers of the corporation are the Chair, the Vice-chair, the Secretary and the Chief Executive Officer of B\u00e2tirente and Treasurer. The person elected as Treasurer of the CSN is one of the four representatives of the latter and serves as the Chair of the board. The Chief Executive Officer of B\u00e2tirente has a non-voting seat on the board of directors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yvan Duceppe was\u00a0<\/span>elected<\/span>\u00a0to the CSN treasury in January 2021.<\/span>\u00a0H<\/span>e was\u00a0<\/span>elected<\/span>\u00a0to the treasury of the CSN\u2019s\u202f<\/span><\/span>F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des\u00a0<\/span>professionn\u00e8les<\/span><\/span>\u202fin 2000. Since 1991, he has held the position of Finance and Administration Advisor at MCE Conseils. He has sat since 2007 as an external member of the Board before becoming\u00a0<\/span>it\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0Chair in 2021.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Mr.\u202fD<\/span>uceppe\u00a0<\/span>was\u00a0<\/span>reelected<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in 2023\u00a0<\/span>for a\u00a0<\/span>second\u00a0<\/span>term.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Serge Monette\u00a0<\/span>is president\u00a0<\/span>of the\u202f<\/span><\/span>F\u00e9d\u00e9ration du commerce (CSN)<\/span><\/span>\u202fsince 202<\/span>4<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>has been vice-president<\/span>\u00a0since 2021<\/span>. In 2007, he became secretary of his union\u202f<\/span><\/span>Syndicat\u00a0<\/span>Sysco Grand Montr\u00e9al-CSN<\/span><\/span>\u202ffor 3 years before assuming its presidency for 10 years<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0Mr. Monette was appointed to\u00a0<\/span>B\u00e2tirente\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0board\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>October\u00a0<\/span>2023.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

St\u00e9phan\u202fMorency is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the B\u00e2tirente and Fondaction Combination. A dedicated leader recognized for his work in sustainable finance and impact investing, both in Qu\u00e9bec and abroad, he served as Vice-President and Chief Investment Officer of Fondaction from 2019 to 2024, and then as Executive Vice-President, Strategy and Planning from 2024 to 2026. Mr.\u202fMorency was appointed to\u00a0<\/span>B\u00e2tirente\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0Board of Directors in April\u202f2026.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Marie-\u00c8ve\u202fPinard has been a union advisor with the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des\u00a0<\/span>employ\u00e9es<\/span>\u00a0et\u00a0<\/span>employ\u00e9s<\/span>\u00a0de services publics<\/span><\/span>\u00a0(FEESP-CSN) for over 20\u202fyears. Since 2024, she has served as coordinator of the CSN\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Comit\u00e9<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>intersectoriel<\/span>\u00a0du\u00a0<\/span>secteur<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>priv\u00e9<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and has been coordinating the bargaining support service. Ms.\u202fPinard was appointed to\u00a0<\/span>B\u00e2tirente\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0Board of Directors in January\u202f2025.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He has also been Secretary of the Executive since 2010, a B\u00e2tirente Group Representative since 2012, and a Fondaction Regional Representative for Laval<\/span><\/span>\u2011<\/span>Lanaudi\u00e8re<\/span><\/span>\u2011<\/span>Laurentides since 2024. Mr.\u202fGari\u00e9py was\u00a0<\/span>reelected<\/span>\u00a0as a Board Member at the 2024 Annual General Meeting for a third term.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Richard Fortier is an experienced manager who worked for over 40 years in companies administering every type of group savings plans.\u00a0<\/span>In the course of<\/span>\u00a0his career, he held a\u00a0<\/span>wide vari<\/span>ety of positions, including chief executive of a major Qu\u00e9bec insurance company.\u00a0<\/span>He\u00a0<\/span>is\u00a0<\/span>an external member of the board of directors since 2014.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Committee Mandates<\/h2>\n

Over the past few years, B\u00e2tirente specified\u00a0new terms\u00a0of reference for fiduciary duties that foster sound risk management, service\u00a0development\u00a0and profitability. The purpose of the committees is to make\u00a0B\u00e2tirente\u2019s\u00a0Board of Directors more efficient and to\u00a0facilitate\u00a0more in-depth discussions. Committees have the power to make recommendations.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>Asset Management Committee<\/span><\/b>\u00a0is responsible for\u00a0advising\u00a0the Board of Directors on B\u00e2tirente Funds\u2019 investment policy, contributing to its regular review, and ensuring that the strategies for\u00a0optimizing\u00a0the diversified portfolios and the Trajectory strategy are kept up to date. It supervises the management of assets to achieve a return-risk-sustainability ratio that meets members\u2019\u00a0objectives\u00a0and needs. It oversees portfolio manager selection and\u00a0monitors\u00a0their financial and extra-financial results and impacts. It also receives reports from the shareholder engagement service provider.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
