Development of a strong communtity that encourages dialogue and the sharing of best practices<\/h2>\n

B\u00e2tirente is actively involved with the PRI Qu\u00e9bec Network since its creation in 2013. The network\u2019s mission is to encourage the adoption of the PRI by growing numbers of Qu\u00e9bec finance stakeholders. To do so, it promotes knowledge, expertise and sharing best practices.<\/p>\n

B\u00e2tirente is convinced of the benefits derived from proximity and from a dynamic financial ecosystem, all of this transiting through a responsible-investment engaged and competent financial community. In this spirit, we are proud to entrust 95 percent of our assets to managers based in Qu\u00e9bec, of which more than 80 percent are PRI signatories.<\/p>\n

Local involvement<\/h3>\n

B\u00e2tirente is among the first institutions to invest in the Qu\u00e9bec Emerging Managers Program<\/a> (QEMP) fund. The fund is quite successful and posts very good returns. Its mission is to promote the growth of financial entrepreneurship in Qu\u00e9bec by entrusting institutional funds to Qu\u00e9bec emerging managers, allowing them to become familiar with this sophisticated universe and to increase their visibility while acquiring a credible professional history.<\/p>\n

Investor letters<\/h3>\n

When investors identify industry issues or if they want to contest business communities, governments or regulators, they agree on the content of a statement which is then disseminated in the public sphere and to organizations that are interested in these matters. These investor letters are an important tool for collaboration; they allow widespread awareness of the positions of the institutional investor communities. Oftentimes, some of these letters have the support of several dozens of institutional investors who manage thousands of billions of assets.<\/p>\n
