After more than 25 years as the Chief Executive Officer of Bâtirente, Daniel Simard has confirmed to its Board of Directors his intention to retire. Éric Filion, Chief Operating Officer for the organization, has been appointed to take over as CEO.
Today, Bâtirente held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) branded by the slogan “My retirement. Our strength” and presented a positive assessment of its 2020 activities to about 80 group representatives and partners who all attended virtually. Participants had the opportunity to learn that, while Bâtirente excelled in the quality of support provided to groups and members during this difficult period, the organization also kept a firm and steady focus on the future.
Bâtirente, with support from Æquo Shareholder Engagement Services (“Æquo”), submitted a shareholder proposal to the Imperial Oil Limited, asking the latter to adopt a corporate target that would enable it to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050.
